Events in Shrewsbury From 17th August – 23rd August 2026

This week in Shrewsbury offers a range of events to fill your time. You can engage in creative activities, enjoy live performances, or find family-friendly film screenings. Whether you prefer arts or music, Shrewsbury has varied options to offer. You’ll find a strong focus on cultural events, with opportunities to see theatrical productions on screen – perhaps at My Shrewsbury – or enjoy a lunchtime classical music recital in a historic setting. For those interested in creativity, hands-on workshops blend visual arts with writing. Music lovers can choose from tribute acts performing classic rock, broader summer music series, or daytime gatherings. Consider using the Park and Ride scheme if travelling from outside the town to avoid parking congestion. Families are well catered for with outdoor film showings of children’s stories, likely at My Shrewsbury, alongside community fundraisers that combine entertainment with a good cause. You can also explore opportunities for young people to develop their skills with summer programmes. Furthermore, if you are looking for unique items, you can browse a local gallery’s archive sale. Remember that car parks operate on a pay-and-display basis, so plan accordingly. The week ahead offers ways to connect with Shrewsbury’s local scene, accessible via the A5 and A49 road networks, or by rail at Shrewsbury Railway Station.
